The Benchmark Scientific MR9600-BND is a bundle containing the Benchmark Scientific MR9600 SmartReader 96 and the Benchmark Scientific MW9600 SmartWasher. The Benchmark Scientific MR9600 is a welcome addition to any lab that is routinely measuring concentration or absorbance in 96 well plates. The MR9600's 7 inch touch screen, intuitive software, and graphical interface makes it easy to use as a standalone instrument (a separate computer and additional software is not required).

The MR9600 SmartReader 96 comes complete with 4 popular filters: 405, 450, 492, 630 nm. Twenty six additional filters are available separately to cover a full range from 340 to 750 nm. The integrated filter wheel allows up to 8 filters to be loaded at once, and filters can be selected during programming. Use the touch screen, or connect a mouse for programming and operation. The menu interface allows the user to choose the wavelength filter, set shaking parameters, enter details of the plate layout, and also choose the details for the reading protocol and data calculations. Up to two filters can be used for 2 measurements of the sample plate, for calculated comparisons. Kinetic calculations can be performed by setting multiple readings.

The MR9600 SmartReader 96 is a convenient stand alone reader, all software and the programming system is incorporated into the electronics. However, a convenient USB port on the side allows quick and easy saving of data files to a USB drive, and the universal .csv files can then be shared or transferred to a computer for storage or further processing. A data port can be used for connecting a computer or basic printer.

The plate layout interface allows for quick and intuitive set up of a plate's well contents. The display shows a graphical representation of the 96 well plate, and the user can label each well as required for: "known standard", "unknown sample", "blank well", "QC control well", "negative control", "positive control", or "empty". The interface allows highlighting and labeling multiple wells to save time. Measurement data is available immediately on the screen after a reading, as well as interpretations, calculated analysis and curve fittings. The MR9600 has a power cord and plug suitable for 120 V US outlets.

The Benchmark Scientific MW9600 SmartWasher 96 provides researchers required flexibility. Full plates, partial plates, and strips with U, V, C, or flat bottoms are accepted by this fully automated washer. Multiple aspiration point settings allow for minimal residual liquid in the wells after aspiration. All parameters, including dispense volume, suction time, soak and shake cycles, and shaking speed are easily programmed using the large 4.3 in. LCD display and keypad. Up to 100 wash protocols can be stored on board the MW9600 SmartWasher 96 and recalled when needed, or transferred between machines with a flash drive.

The MW9600 SmartWasher comes equipped with 2 wash bottles, 1 rinse bottle, and a waste bottle which all have sensors that alert the user when the solutions are low, or in the case of the waste bottle, when it needs to be emptied. An auto-rinse function primes the dispensing tube and wash heads to prevent cross contamination and clogs. 8 and 12 channel manifolds are available separately to accommodate plates in either orientation. A transparent, acrylic shield surrounds the wash area, allowing for visualization of the plate. Should a spill or leak occur, the beveled spill well ensures that the liquid is extracted immediately to avoid cross-contamination.
