Amerex's GYROMAX™ and SteadyShake™ orbital shakers incorporate design features that offer quiet, maintenance-free shaking under a constant and reproducible temperature environment. Eleven different models meet the needs of most biological research laboratories for shaking under a precisely controlled temperature environment are available in four basic housing configurations.

Features

The GYROMAXTM 787 and 787R orbital incubator shakers feature a microprocessor temperature controller, double-walled construction and a 1.5” thick and a double-paned glass window to minimize heat loss. This construction, together with an efficient circulation system, ensures unrivaled optimum temperature uniformity throughout the chamber. The window has an opaque sliding panel to block light from entering the chamber for applications involving light-sensitive materials. The temperature is set digitally and displayed by an LED to 0.1oC. The working temperature range is from +5oC above ambient to 70oC for the non-refrigerated model and 4oC to 70oC for the refrigerated model. A brushless, maintenance-free drive motor generates speeds from 40 to 400 RPM which are displayed digitally. A fan cools the motor so that it operates at a lower temperature, thereby prolonging its life. A dynamically triple-eccentric drive with counter-balancing weights provides smooth and quiet shaking and there is no need for adjustments as the load or RPM changes.

 

A programmable timer affords a choice of switching between a continuous run or a timed run up to 99 hours and 59 minutes. For even longer runs, each timed run can be repeated up to 999 times.

 

Multi-step programming is available. A program can consist of up to 9 steps and for each step you can change the time, RPM and the direction of rotation. For example, shake at 300 RPM clockwise for 60 minutes, then 250 RPM counter-clockwise for 120 minutes, followed by 200 RPM in the opposite direction for another 120 minutes, and repeat as needed. For applications such as the mixing of immiscible liquids or in extraction, the direction of rotation can change every 1 minute for optimum effect. To prevent over-heating, the controller shuts off the heater if the chamber temperature exceeds
the set temperature by a pre-determined number of degrees. In case of a power failure, shaking automatically resumes when power is restored.
